“I love the weather portion because I’m a certified weather nerd, but also the air quality side because I believe, at least for me, air quality meteorology is still somewhat in its infancy, I’d say, because for the longest time I can remember I didn’t really hear that much about air quality from a meteorology standpoint until my sophomore, junior year. And even now I’m seeing more air quality forecasts on your local news channel. A lot of the broadcast meteorologists in Michigan that I know are forecasting air quality, especially in the summertime. It’s kind of a growing field in terms of getting the public knowledge out about it, and I like being able to forecast and make sure the air quality within Michigan is up to par.”
