Submit Your Presentation Proposal: Community & Citizen Scientists

We are looking for community and citizen scientists to discuss projects they are working on or have completed related to weather; and what impact these projects have had or are having. These can be any type of project large or small, individual or community. Examples include:

• Heat monitoring
• Air quality monitoring
• Avalanche forecasting
• Weather spotting
• CoCoRaHS reporting
• Severe weather impacts to your community

We are looking particularly for amateur weather enthusiasts to share what they are working on and what they are excited about. This could mean observations of local weather, how you’re collecting and using data from your local weather station, weather history you’re researching, or severe weather impacts and recovery in your local community. 

And don’t let the idea of being a speaker at a symposium intimidate you! This is a friendly, informal environment and we are looking for short presentations (5-10 minutes long) on topics that you are excited about. 

• If you’re worried about your schedule, presentations will be pre-recorded, and these recording sessions can be scheduled at your convenience. They will then premiere as part of the Community and Citizen Science Symposium on January 22, 2022. 
• If you are shy about public speaking or nervous about technology, we will help with coaching and recording. 
• Images and visual aids such as Power Point slides are highly encouraged, but not required.
