What is your favorite aspect of what you currently do as a scientist?

I love that every day is different. Science is such a wide subject and weather is linked to everything. I love how my brain is always evolving as the science improves and advances. Every day is different!

What are one or two things you do for fun that make you #morethanascientist?

I am a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend. As a mother of a toddler, I am often busy with her extracurricular activities. At this stage of her life (and with another baby on the way), her fun is my fun. I love to see my daughter grow and see her become her own self. I love to see the world through her eyes. As a daughter, I love to spend time with my parents and still learn from them. Having kids has made me realize all the hard work parents put in, especially women. Women are truly superheroines. We are in a constant balancing act in life.

What does a “work-life balance” mean to you?

I continue to find new ways to disconnect and take advantage of the time to do what I enjoy outside of work. I’ve been working from home since before the pandemic and this setup has allowed me to enjoy precious time with my family that perhaps would have been tougher to have if I had to go to a work location. Working from home is no easy task either, and days seem to become longer with home mixed with work all day, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
