Lightning over Bangkok by Vasily Iakovlev
Usually I travel with my camera, but as a rule I use it only when nature or the weather is in a rare or unusual condition.
That was the same night in Bangkok. There was a severe thunderstorm, lightning flashed. Of course, I wanted to photograph such a beautiful natural phenomenon in one of the most beautiful megacities. At first I tried to take pictures through the window, staying dry and safe, but I didn't succeed.
Then I took a camera and a tripod and went in search of a place where I could take a photo. Fortunately, the roof of the house I lived in (like most roofs in Bangkok) was open. All I had to do was set up a tripod, a camera, find a nice composition and take a lot of photos in the hope of getting THAT picture.
As a result at that night I took about 300 shots and only one was lucky for me - I managed to catch a very beautiful lightning bolt right over Bangkok.
Soaked through, but very satisfied, I folded the tripod and camera and went to my room.
