“I didn't get accepted into graduate school my first time applying. After a week of feeling like a failure, I snapped out of it and asked myself what I could do to be a better candidate. So I emailed the programs asking for their recommendations: take more math classes and demonstrate your potential. And so I did. University of California, Davis saw my potential and here I am pursuing that graduate degree.”
